Accompanist

Corinne Littlehales

Corinne is an experienced pianist, accompanist and teacher whose musical life has taken her from the Royal Academy of Music to choirs, theatre groups, open mic sessions and community music-making.

She studied piano with Joan Last OBE at the Royal Academy of Music and, as a teenager, won many prizes as a piano duettist with her younger sister. Her early musical experiences included hearing international concert pianists such as Mitsuko Uchida, Peter Katin, Marc Raubenheimer and Peter Bithell in informal performance settings before their Wigmore Hall appearances.

Alongside her work as a pianist, Corinne has spent many years teaching children and adults, both for enjoyment and in preparation for graded and theory examinations. Her accompanying experience is wide-ranging, including amateur dramatic theatre groups in London, musical theatre, pantomime, old time music hall, singers, guitarists and community music projects supporting young adults with learning difficulties.

For over 20 years, Corinne was Head of Casework for a major music charity in Central London, supporting professional musicians unable to work due to sickness, ill health or old age. Through this work, she built lasting friendships across the classical and jazz music worlds.

Since moving to Shropshire, Corinne has become involved with local male voice choirs, accompanying singers for rehearsals and concerts that support charitable causes across the area. As accompanist for Shifnal Male Voice Choir, she brings warmth, sensitivity and a wealth of musical experience to the choir's work.

Corinne enjoys both classical and jazz music and is a strong advocate for live performance. She believes that, with encouragement, relaxed technique and a genuine joy in music-making, everyone can find confidence and pleasure in music.
